I figured there had to be one to put the plants when they are put into bigger pots… since there will probably be snow on the ground until May!!!!
Laurel's Garden
.....just a journal of mostly photos of my gardening adventures... minus the backlog of over 1000 photos not yet uploaded! Also, I find myself collecting some recipes and just good ideas so this is the perfect place to put them. More pictures are on Pinterest at pinterest.com/laurelWisconsin.

It’s about that time….
…. gonna be chilly tonight… not probably cool enough to cover the plants so this is a run-through… tomorrow will attach the plastic to the fences so it’s easy to remove and to put back over the plants!
The next day..

So here’s the plan..
…move the wood pile to the cardboard and put the twigs to start the fire in the blue container. Fires have been few because wood has been too wet or it’s been too windy OR I didn’t want to FIGHT the mosquitoes!!! OH.. and I’ll cover it with a tarp. This will give that area more room for the picnic table! The white posts and green webbing on the blueberry bushes are ugly but serving the purpose… no dogs are lounging in it or running through it. I have other plans for that!!
Dog’s hunting!!
I tell ‘em… “get that rabbit” because rabbits are eating my stuff! Remember those carrots I planted….
It’s really not smart…
…to collect ripe cherry tomatoes and then collect big tomatoes and put them in the bag on TOP of the small, ripe cherries!

How to Freeze Peaches
Add 2/3 cup sugar to 1 quart of cut up fruit. (you can add Fruit Fresh to the sugar if desired, this is a citric acid which is a natural Vitamin C)
Mix gently with a wooden spoon, just until it draws a juice and the sugar is dissolved.
Package in freezer bags or containers, leaving headspace. Freeze immediately.
…….some day I’ll have enough to freeze… in the meantime the peach from my tree was delicious!

August update!
Well…. I picked my first PEACH from my tree! Been eating a few blueberries and raspberries but no blackberries so far. There are only a few strawberries but at least the plants now have a home and I look forward to more. There are bunches and bunches of grapes. Have picked 5 or 6 eggplant and a few more cucumbers. A billion tomatoes will ripen real soon... probably during this next heat spell. I've had a few peppers and 2 carrots are growing (the tomatoes pushed them out.. have to find another place for them). The squash, melons and watermelons have suffered because I'm a procrastinator but there is still hope. Most of the apples are rotting on the tree (gotta figure that out) but the pear tree is amazing I'm looking forward to rhubarb next year and will figure out a way to get to the cherries before the birds do! Pretty darn cool, huh?
